One of the best movies that sends a message about the power behind your subconscious mind has to be the Field of Dreams. You remember, it’s the story that revolves around the voice that says, ‘If you build it they will come.’ What if you asked yourself what will come? Well, actually it anything your heart (and mind) desires.
Your subconscious mind power will make you the person you want to be, create the life you want, and change things as they are to the way you want them to be; all from your subconscious mind. The mind is truly powerful and beautiful. With our subconscious minds, we can heal, transcend, feel good; or feel bad. Each of us has the power to change our worlds through the power of our subconscious minds, if we only choose to take control of them.
Still skeptical? Don’t worry, I figured most of you were, which is why I went through all my research and picked a few examples out for you. The easiest way it can be explained is by acknowledging the Placebo Effect. This is where a study occurs with two different groups. One group receives the medication that is ‘the real deal,’ while the other is simply a placebo. However, neither one of them know which has the real medicine and which group doesn’t.
A surprising effect happens with many, many trials. That is, those who get the placebo pill still often show similar results to those who get the actual drug. No one quite knows why, but oftentimes, the people getting the placebo show at least some benefit (perhaps not to the same intensity as the drug, but still experience benefits), even though the pill they’ve gotten has NO medical benefits whatsoever, as an inert substance. They also may experience ’side effects’ that they’ve been told the actual medication will give them, again, even though they’ve taken an inert substance. Why is this true? These people were told what the medication would do, and if they believed they were being given the real pill, their subconscious minds often gave them the ‘benefits’ and ’side effects’ of the real drug.
Doctors even understand the importance of using the subconscious mind. In fact, next time you go to get a new prescription from your physician, see if he/she tells you about the side effects. Most likely not, because they don’t want to throw out all the negative aspects of taking a pill. Doing so will leave you either not wanting to take it, or ending up with the side effects even if they are unbelievably rare.
Unfortunately, it has taken us far longer to reach this understanding then it should have throughout history. It was used thousands of years ago by ancient religions and then realized years later. Once we figured out that the power of suggestion combined with subconscious mind power could change anyone’s life, it was much easier to train the mind.
While focusing on your positive thoughts of the inner mind is a good approach, others tend to take a different route. In today’s world it seems that most people turn to using visualization to alter the way their mind sees things. This is can either be done by closing your eyes and picturing it, or see it in the flesh.
Once you’ve accomplished this beginning stage, let’s move on to the physical side of things. Maybe you’ve been mowing with a push mower for years and couldn’t imagine the difference if you had a riding lawn mower. Well, do the step above and picture yourself riding around cutting the grass without any exertion. Then, go down to the store where you saw it and take a picture of yourself sitting on it. Once you do this, place those pictures around your house, work, and anywhere else you deem necessary.
This has been common knowledge for years, but we’re just now starting to put it into action. Well, some of us anyways, others have already utilized their secret potential hidden within the subconscious mind.
Over the years, quantum physics has shed light on the ability to manipulate your pure energy with the mind. Oddly enough, it has also shown us that the energy wouldn’t even exist if not for the mind of the observer.
See, it may be hard to understand your first time going over the subject, but the subconscious mind is the reason your matter and energy is obtained. In the past we believed it to be the other way around. It’s a true testament to the fact that everything is created through the mind and why the subconscious mind is so powerful.
Long before our time, ancient religions lived by their understanding of the subconscious mind. Those who were dedicated to their beliefs even transformed the subconscious mind into powers beyond the thought of man. Some may believe its religion, some may believe its science, but in the end just acknowledging that it’s there is important.
At the end of the day you just have to ask yourself if there is something better out there. It may be a new career, a relationship, more time with the kids, or anything you’ve wanted for a long time. Astral projection is also known as an out-of-body experience and it is an event that can occur to a great many people at various times. These events will commonly occur during a major trauma although many people report having experienced such events through their own sheer willpower.
This is the more commonly known astral projection. Many people have claimed to have out of body experiences and many more people have claimed to be able to perform astral projection. The Chinese Taoists had devised a unique alchemical practice which centered on creating a body of energy by way of breathing meditations, pulling energy into something known as a “pearl” and it then is circulating the pearl through the body to cradt the body of energy.
While an out-of-body experience takes place, scores of people eventually account that they have literally willed themselves to take a leave from their bodies. Then there are those that invoke the notion that they are literally pulled out of their body while some may state that they cannot even tell that the out-of-body experience has actually occurred. In bragg you have a number of different types of player. Some will seemingly always continue to bet blind and will hope that most of the other people will open and quickly fold. This type of player can at times be quite hard to play against and can even become quite annoying. Knowing that they are going to continue to bet blind in this way makes it quite a hard decision for you to make if you have had a look at your cards and have seen that you have been dealt a pair of say two’s. This hand is quite hard to assess, it can win many hands but in another way seems quite weak. To keep adding money to the pot takes a bit of bottle and your inner mind tells you to fold and wait for a better hand to arrive.

Now that you’ve received your raw drum tracks as WAV files from an online studio drummer, how should you proceed when it’s time to mix? This series of brief tutorials will outline several processing concepts. Of course, if you ask 100 Engineers how to mix a drum track, you’ll definitely receive 100 differing opinions on what’s right and what’s wrong. The bottom line is that if it sounds good, then it is good. Do whatever needs to be done to convey the emotion of a performance. I will also assume most of you will be using a DAW (Logic, Pro Tools, Reaper, DP, etc…) of some sort. With that said, here are some tips on gating drum tracks.
Gating is essentially silencing sections of audio that have no pertinent information (aka bleed) so as to present a more cleanly defined track. For example, you may want to gate the tom tracks so that they are heard only when they are hit, as opposed to howling sympathetically whenever the snare is hit. If you find this annoying, simply gate those toms. Silencing audio on the track when the toms aren’t being struck produces a cleaner and tighter drum track overall. You can do this by using a noise gate as an insert (hardware or software plug-in) or by drawing down the volume via automation in a DAW or even muting whole sections in between actual hits. Each technique produces a different effect on the overall sound, so experiment with your drum tracks and see what works for you. Some guys will gate all drum tracks but the overheads, room, and hi-hat mics. This can be great for. Take time to experiment and take notes.
Conversely, some engineers feel that drums should ring freely and by gating you run the risk of killing the “vibe” of a drum kit being played by a real drummer in a real room. I won’t argue this point as it’s a valid one, but the decision to gate drum tracks or not depends entirely on the type of material being performed and what you’re going for on an aesthetic level. Having said that, I generally wouldn’t gate anything for a traditional Jazz number or anything requiring a Bonham-type vibe. In this case, the ringing and overtones produced by having all the microphones wide open contribute to the overall presence of the kit and the air that surrounds each element can make for a huge sounding drum track.
